The long and skinny window
The hallmarks of contemporary residential architecture are clean modern lines, natural and sustainable components, and a devotion to connecting the indoors and outdoor, which makes natural light an essential requirement. Contemporary homes will have large expanses of floor to ceiling glass that capture this light, and on the walls that need to stay solid you’ll often see an inclusion of long and skinny windows, both vertical and horizontal to further maximize this light.
Here are some of our favorite shutter installations for long and skinny windows. After all, although we need light there are times we need privacy, and Highprofile (for general living areas) and Weatherwell shutters (for durability and wet areas) offer the perfect window treatment solution.
